Amber Necklace Sizing
We are regularly asked about amber necklace sizing and measurements of our necklaces
. It is important to ensure that the necklace fits close and comfortable, but not too snug.
A small 28cm necklace most generally fits a small child until 12 months and the 32cm necklace fits most children. As the child grows, check the necklace to ensure it is still the correct size. The necklace should fit loose enough around the neck so you can insert two or three fingers but you should NOT be able to get the necklace above the child’s chin so the necklace cannot be put in his/her mouth. The amber beads MUST NOT BE PUT INTO THE MOUTH OR CHEWED.
Each bead is individually knotted so if the necklace does break, the beads stay intact
Important!!! Amber Necklaces and Bracelets are made to wear but not to chew! Ensure the necklace cannot be placed in the mouth and never leave your child unattended whilst wearing the necklace.
The easiest way to measure is to take a tape measure or even a piece of ribbon or string and loop it carefully around your child’s neck to see what length fits most comfortably.
Amber Necklaces may also stretch a bit in length over time.
Most customers find that the 12-13 inches (31-33 cm) length is perfect. While they may be slightly long at first, they find their child can grow into it as they get older. If you prefer a longer necklace for an older child, we would be happy to make it to your specifications.
- Do NOT let the child put the jewellery in their mouth or play with the jewellery.
- Supervise the child at all times when they are wearing the jewellery.
- Jewellery should be removed when the child is sleeping or unattended.
- Not to be worn by children under 36months.
